Jeff's De-Shedding/Undercoat Rake
|
This is nothing more than an ordinary hammer handle with a wide blade attached to the end of it. 20 years ago +/-, I made these tools to pull undercoat out so I wouldn't have to tear up my hands carding with a blade. It worked fantastic!
Today, I see a need to bring back this historical technology because the technology of today just isnt holding up like it should. The "Name Brand" de-shedding tool wears out and the teeth bend so it becomes non-usable. This tool keeps on going, and going, because its made out of the finest materials in the grooming and home improvement industry.
It has a "Wide" #30 blade for the de-shedding part, and its from one of the most popular blade manufacturers in the USA. This blade isn't going to wear out, and the teeth will not bend or break unless you drop it. The handle is genuine Tennessee Hickory, used on most of your expensive hammers sold in home improvement centers. When put them both together, it makes Jeff's De-shedding/Undercoat Rake.
You can make this tool yourself for a cost of $37.50 +/-, depending if you can get parts. There is a secret way I keep the blade from being pulled off the end while its being used, might wanna let me make it for you. Groomers still use the "Brand Name" solutions, and they said my rake pulls just as much or more undercoat out. The only limitation of my rake is that its only 3 inches wide as compared to 4 inches, but the teeth will not bend or break off during normal de-shedding procedures. Also, as with any tool in the grooming industry, it can hurt an animal if miss-used, use common sense as you would with any tool you use. You take responsibility for that.
I chose the #30 blade particulary because the teeth are longer than other blades so it will dig deeper. The hickory hammer handle is bigger around than all the other de-shedding tool handles, and it gives you a better grip and will reduce sliding out of your hand when it gets tough to pull. Because of the way its made, it hasn't caused any wrist pain from pulling, say some of my customers. Holding the handle as far back as you can gives better pull with less drag in the coat, thats why I used the long hammer handle. If you lay your hand near the blade while your pulling with the other, it will be more aggressive with stubborn undercoat. Look at the pictures, you can see this is one fantastic de-shedding or undercoat removal rake.
Stop using a #40 blade or one of those cheap little carding tools that tears you hand up, use one of the finest rakes made and save your arm for better things. You can even use your solutions with this rake. A video is available now or very soon demonstrating this rake

Custom Painted Andis Clipper Bodies
|
|
Dare To Be Different!
Why have the same color clippers as everyone else in the shop? I've been painting these Andis clipper bodies and putting them on the clippers I've refurbished with amazement by groomers. Now, I can offer these bodies to groomers who don't use spray coolants. The solvents inside that can of coolant will dissolve the paint, but if your not a coolant user you can have clippers that set themselves apart from the rest.
The bodies are brand new and I can install them if I have the clipper, or I can ship them and you install them. Some have glitter, some have character runs in the paint, some are custom painted to your specifications. A great way to identify your clipper in a shop with multiple groomers.
The colors shown are the only colors available that stick permanently to these bodies. Five colors is alot better than the "one" you have now. I'm still looking for a "Hot Pink" that will work, sorry.

This is how all my refurbished clippers are sold.......Custom Painted Bodies! They are distinctive, and identify your clipper from everyone elses. No mistaking your clipper now!!!
| There are only 5 colors right now:
Gold, Green, Purple, Blue, Red
I can add sparkles if you want but they fall off in time. Im working on finding some different colors in a paint that will harden and shine like this paint does. My largest request is "Hot Pink" and I do have a paint that sticks good. The problem with Hot Pink is when it gets dirty it looks bad because it shows everything brilliantly, these 5 colors dont show dirt very well. Remember, you can't spray these bodies with spray coolants or the paint will dissolve. Take your blades off the clipper to clean them you'll do a better job.
